The history of the translation in Latin America
This conference pretends to offer a panorama of the history of the translation in Latin America from the first translation impresa in America (1594) until Jorge Luis Borges, going through the interpretation in the period of the colony with the first %u201Clenguaraces%u201D to the service of Cortés and Pizarro and the first laws on his activity. They will mention to libertadores, presidents, intellectual recognised, priests, committed journalists, all translators those who worked catechisms, Statements and Constitutions, revolutionary songs, philosophical and classical writings of the universal literature to mark of his stamp an original concept of translation.

The workshop aims to initiate to the student of translation in the activity of autorevisión, that is to say the indispensable stage between the ending of a task of translation and his delivery to the customer or to the revisor. For this will review the definitions and the criteria of the bilingual review, for afterwards examine methods and principles of the autorevisión. They will propose some exercises of application.
